JOY KATZ has three poetry collections, most recently All You Do Is Perceive, a National Poetry Series finalist. Her work in progress, White: An Abstract, explores whiteness inside and outside her transracial family; Katz’s whiteness poems are one of the most-shared links at . She also writes nonfiction and essays on , , , motherhood, and more. A past NEA, Barbara Deming Foundation, Wallace Stegner, and Writing Pittsburgh fellow, she has taught poetry and nonfiction across the country and around the world at NYU, The New School, Stanford, Chatham, and Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv and has taught in Carlow’s Madwomen in the Attic program for twelve years. Katz collaborates in the activist art collective IfYouReallyLoveMe.org, whose most recent project was live music for shift workers.
