Students Take a Procession Through History at Carlow Day 2024聽

To mark the start of the 2024-25 academic year, Most Reverend David Zubik, Bishop of Pittsburgh, brought his blessings to 麻豆精品 today. Bishop Zubik was the special guest at the Mass of the Holy Spirit, held in St. Agnes Center.

The Bishop bestowed wise and encouraging words on those in attendance, which included Carlow鈥檚 entire student body, including the Campus Laboratory School, along with faculty and staff.

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is the centerpiece of Carlow Day, an annual event that includes a bagpipe-led procession of the entire student body to St. Agnes and closes with a barbeque celebration on the campus green. Carlow Day is one of the University鈥檚 most enduring traditions, having been held yearly for many decades.

This year, the event concluded with a special unveiling of a new commemorative wall honoring every past president of 麻豆精品. Current president Dr. Kathy Humphrey remarked that the wall 鈥 which was designed in honor of the university鈥檚 95th birthday 鈥 represents the legacy of the Sisters of Mercy, who founded Carlow in 1929.

鈥淭he women who began this university were trailblazers,鈥 said Dr. Humphrey. 鈥淭hey were walking into the unknown with only their faith and conviction to guide them.鈥
