Important Updates聽
August 2025: The Practical Nursing Program has been awarded聽Candidacy Status聽by the聽Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), confirming that the program聽has聽demonstrated聽readiness to聽proceed聽with the accreditation process. The program is聽actively engaged in continuous quality improvement and compliance with ACEN Standards聽and Criteria.聽Graduates who complete the program during the candidacy period are聽recognized as having graduated from an ACEN-accredited program, contingent upon聽the program鈥檚 ongoing adherence to ACEN requirements through the accreditation review聽cycle.聽
January 2026: The Practical Nursing Program is on聽provisional approval status with the聽Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing. Provisional approval is a formal designation used聽by the Board when specific program outcomes require聽additional聽monitoring and聽improvement.聽聽
Provisional status does not affect:
鈥� Your enrollment in the program聽
鈥� Your progression through coursework or clinical experiences聽
鈥� Your eligibility for graduation
鈥� Your eligibility to sit for the NCLEX-PN
Provisional approval reflects the Board鈥檚 expectation that targeted improvement strategies聽be implemented within a defined聽timeframe.聽
